Sounds like fans of the Hartford Yard Goats will have a great choice of food options at home games. In addition to the already announced Dunkin' Donuts, Bear's Smokehouse Barbecue, Scotts' Jamaican Bakery, and U.S.S. Chowder Pot IV there will be a food kiosk called "Hartford Flavors" that will feature food from a rotating number of local restaurants such as Comerio and First & Last Tavern. Sounds interesting. Jay

Nothing like a big cup a chowder and a baseball game.

I drive by this almost every day and it looks almost done from the outside. I don't know how extensive the concourse is but it shouldn't take too long. Good progress has been made within the past month.

The developer says they will meet the date. They are just playing in Norwich from the 12th to the 26th. I believe the first game in Hartford is supposed to be on the 31st. Will see. Jay

I'm surprised they didn't do this from the beginning of the year.

Looks like the state is going to help Hartford with the Dunkin Donuts Stadium after all by letting them keep the admissions tax collected at events and allowing an additional 5% surcharge on top of that. The admission tax is estimated to be an additional $400,000 annually for the city. Should help them deal with the cost overruns. The state is giving the same deal to New Britain and I would think other cities (Norwich, Bridgeport, New Haven?). The article though does not say that. Jay

The opening game for the Yard Goats was this week and only a couple dozen fans attended at Dodd Stadium. I hope attendance picks up when they move to Hartford.

I was there. They official attendance was 650. I counted about 100. It was difficult to buy tickets as you had to purchase them on the Connecticut Defenders site. We still had a good time at the game. Weather was great-- Didn't get cooler until the 7th inning.
