Default Which schools (public) are better?

Out of these towns in your opinion...WHICH is best for public schools?
We will be moving once our home sells and our primary reasoning behind town selection will be schools and proximity to DH's work in Bristol.
Here are the towns i've been looking into.
Avon, Farmington, Glastonbury, Burlington and simsbury (though a little further from bristol then id like)
According to the CT magazine Glastonbury had the highest rated among these with a rating of 2. I used to work in Glastonbury and never really heard alot about the schools. Is this accurate?

Mark_CT is on a distinguished road
Simsbury is usually ranked highest in the Hartford area. The facilities at Simsbury are amazing too; especially the high school. Very few parents here feel the need to send their children to private high school.

I think Glastonbury is a bit far removed from Bristol, which will require you to travel through Hartford which can see traffic during commuting hours, Plus Bristol currently doesn't have direct highway access which will add time to a commute. I'd say the elementary schools in those towns are pretty much equal. Burlington is a rural community which will require you to travel out of town for most needs, yet it borders Bristol. Farmington is a traditional suburb with a lot of amenities and also borders Bristol. Avon is a bit further out yet still has all the shops and things located in town, it is also more pricey than Farmington.

My opinion is that Farmington is a good balance for a well rounded town next to Bristol. Burlington if you like a rural setting.

All of the towns you mention have excellent schools and I believe that you can not go wrong with any of them. Commonly though Avon, Simsbury, Farmington and Glastonbury rate slightly higher than Burlington. That said, I agree that looking for a home close to your job is important and that would give a slight edge to the towns in the Farmington Valley (Farmington, Avon and Simsbury), however I do know people that commute from Glastonbury to Bristol and say it is not a bad trip (no congestion). Good luck, Jay
