Most people in CT definetly root for NY teams. Alone, Fairfield County and New Haven consitute over half the population. West of the CT river, even here in Simsbury, I would say most people prefer NY. However east of the river, where you are, things are probably different. Are there many NY fans in your town?

Remember it's the "New England" patriots. I don't know why so many people in CT lean towards NY. Is it because they wouldn't last 2 seconds with a Boston fan.

It's because more people live in the regions closer to the city AND New York is larger; that being said, it's surprising to see that New York doesn't have an even larger hold on CT. I guess those hardcore swamp yankees in eastern CT won't give in lol. Oh, and I really hate it when people try to say, "why don't you root for the New England Patriots? they are the home team." That is the biggest load of crap ever. All of a sudden they move 10 or 15 miles from Boston and they can represent CT?--which has been heavily influenced by NY teams long before the Patriots came to "represent" all of us. Besides, Craft didn't want to bring the Patriots to Hartford because CT was not "New England" enough for those stuffy Bostonians and NY teams were too established in the region. Don't take offense to this, but New York is just plain more exciting than Boston, hands down.

Even if they claim to be joking or not, most hardcore Boston fans are very obnoxious to fans of other teams, especially NY fans and especially in ground zero of baseball rivalries--CT. They do not know how to win graciously, as none of their teams have performed well for the latter half of the twentieth century. It seems to me that most of the Boston fans in CT are a little paranoid that their teams will start sucking again, so they feel the need to rub it in as much as they can in the time they have; it's a simple matter of insecurity. For NY fans like me, it's in one's best interest to just act like they don't exist when witnessing such immature behavior.

First, quite truthfully I wish they were the Boston Patriots. Second, exciting? It doesn't get more exciting that Boston Sports. Hands down Boston is a better city than New York.

You're entitled to your opinions and everything, but I know you must know deep down New York is the superior city; besides, numbers don't lie... maybe you should consider going there and absorbing the unique, cosmopolitan environment and countless venues it has to offer to everybody. Nobody can say the same about Boston; though it's a fine city in it's own right, there is absolutely no way it can or ever will come close to being "better" than the city of all cities, New York, New York.

I spend 2 days a week in NYC. I live in Boston, and have customers in NYC. I know first hand, that Boston is superior. By the way, where to you live? Northwest CT, thats right...nothing to brag about.

Boston is about 1/15 the size of New York (581,000 to 8.5 million) so it's not exactly in the same league.

If you took out all the moderator cut-racism that are employed in NYC, it might be the same size.
