Thanks to everyone that has thoughtfully answered all my questions so far as we consider a move to CT. Your information has helped so much!
Ok, so new question is how would the commute be from Glastonbury to Berlin? It looks like on mapquest it would be round about - heading North to Hartford and then back down South to Berlin, even though in actual miles the 2 towns are just across the river from each other. Thanks again! |

Depending on where in Glastonbury you live and where in Berlin you work, it would take 20 to 30 minutes. The Putnam Bridge connects Route 2 in Glastonbury to I-91 in Wethersfield. You would cross the Connecticut River there and most likely head south on I-91 to Route 9. If the job is on the Berlin Turnpike nearer to Newington (at say Northeast Utilities), you may want to cut across Wethersfield on Prospect Street (Route 287) and then head south.
