HI All,

we are biting the bullet and putting in central air, a new gas furnace, and gas water heater. WE are removing all our cast iron radiators (from around 1947). Is it worth it to keep the radiators and try to sell them via classifieds, or is it just a waste of time. Seems like they can sell from $50 to $200 each on CL. Thanks.

If they are the fancy adorned type they might have a bit of value. I've heard of people so devoted to steam heating that they will go anywhere to pick up old radiators or boilers.

Definitely sell them to someone who will put them back in their house. Or save them for the next owner who would want to put them back. It's a huge turnoff for me to find a house with "new! radiators! new! double paned windows!" etc

There are old house parts companies as well. One in NY and one in ME that I know of.

Sometimes local theater companies are looking for period items like that to use as a part of a set-you'll get a nice tax write off as well-
