Default Brookfield traffic

My wife and I are looking at possibly moving to Brookfield. We'd both be commuting along 84 (her to the east, me to the west). Can anyone speak as to how bad the local roads are getting to I84 (Routes 133, 7, 25, etc)? I am generally working longer hours so I'm less worried about the traffic on my side of the commute, but my wife is generally working 9-5, so probably will see the worst of the traffic. Can anyone tell me how it will be getting to the interstate along those routes? Thanks

Of those roads, Route 7 is the busiest. Route 133 is runs east to west, without much traffic expect for the area around the historic district (where it meets Route 25). Route 25 is busier than 133 but no where near as busy as Route 7. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. We were actually looking at some places that were off 133, so she would have to travel west on 133, then south on 25 to I84. Is that a bad stretch during rush hour? How long would that take her to get to the interstate roughly? Thanks !

If you wife commutes east, she should test 133 west (most likely) to Route 25 and get on I-84 east at exit 9 or take 133 to Obtuse Road South to Route 25. It would be about 7 minutes or so, depending how far east on 133 and how far off of the street connecting to 133 is. I don't think it would be a problem since most commuters I know tend to commute west toward Danbury or south toward lower Fairfield County.

The commute west is a little bit busier but not too bad. There is a little backup where Route 7 meets I-84. I think the best way to I-84 west would be take 133 west to Stony Hill Road to Grays Bridge to Old Grays Bridge to Sandy Lane to Federal Road to White Turkey Road and get on I-84. I would estimate 6-7 minutes as well.
