We're taking a day trip with our 3 year old son. Anything fun we can do this weekend in Glastonbury?

I am not aware of anything in particular going on in town this weekend. I lead a pretty boring life unfortunately. Maybe someone here can make suggestions of things to do nearby. Jay

Only thing I can think of is Saturday Matinee ay Glastonbury. A lot of state fairs this weekend 3 or 4 of them, but bit of a travel most 20-25 miles away. A BBQ up in Windsor, but that's probably more adult's.

I just checked the Glastonbury Citizen and saw there is a Farmers Market with music and animals on Hubbard Green from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Also saw the the Haddam Neck Fair is this weekend. And I think the Woodstock Fair is this weekend. There may be another but not sure where. Hope this helps. Jay

We didn't do anything interesting, lol. We stopped at a few places along the way. We did scope out the area, though, to see about living there in the future. Jay, we stopped at a playground (the name escapes me now), it was more of a hiking trail, wooded area with a very small play area, are there any other parks/playgrounds in Glastonbury?

Was it Buckingham Park off of Manchester Road and Hebron Avenue? There are many playgrounds around town but can't off hand think of any that are near hiking trails. Buckingham has a small playground with soccer and ball fields and is near a bikeway that runs along Hebron Avenue. There may be a couple of small undefined trails off into the woods there but no real hiking trails that I know of.

There is a trail through Addison Bog in back of Smith Middle School but I don't think there is a playground there, just some ball fields. Addison Park has a large playground with a pool but no trails. There are trails through Cotton Hollow down in South Glastonbury but there is the Grange Pool and no playground to my knowledge. Rotary Field has a small playground and a couple of ball fields but there is no trail there. All of the elementary schools have playgrounds that people use when school is not in session but I am sure you would have noticed the school's name if it was one of those. So I am not sure where you were. I hope you liked the town though. Let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to help. Jay
