Default Utilities in West Hartford

Hi, I'm trying to find out about the utility companies in CT. Does anyone know the name of the Gas, Electric and Water companies for West Hartford?

I'm also looking into what my options are for tv and internet. We actually plan to go off cable for a few months to save money and see if we can survive without it, but my wife is a photographer and needs the internet for work.

Does anyone know what options are available for West Hartford? I'm assuming they have comcast, but what about Verizon Fios? Or maybe DSL or perhaps something I don't even know about.

We're also planning on trying to do without a home telephone either. Might keep it if it was bundled with other things, but we have never been fortunate enough to live somewhere where all the services are offered by the same company.

Any help or advice would be great. Thanks!

I think Gas would be Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG)
Electric would be Connecticut Light and Power CL&P)
Water should be served by the Metropolitan District (MDC)

Not sure who the other providers for internet/cable are for WH although I think its Cox....

There were more options for electric other than CL&P since deregulation

AT&T formerly SBC can provide phone/DSL

Comcast provides cable

Cox Communications does offer phone service but doesn't serve West Hartford.

After checking Comcast's site, https://www.comcast.com/Corporate/Cu...erCentral.html, it looks like phone service is available.

Lightbulb West Hartford Cable Providers

I just thought I'd throw my two cents in and mention... companies are becoming more flexible with pricing.

Dish Network can be set up in conjunction with your AT&T service and high speed DSL. The combination saves time and money, and the sales reps are apt to respond to your requests for cheaper packages.

I hope that helps! I love Dish and the DVR. If anyone loves NFL football, the NFL Network comes standard.

All the best... Michael Chenkus
