Hi there,
We are getting hammered here financially in Middletown with me being a stay at home mom, we like the downtown area but I question how good the schools are here. We are looking at moving in the next few years and I was wondering what your opinions were about Danielson/Killingly schools and how comparable they are to Middletown? I see that real estate in the Danielson area is very reasonable which appeals to us living on one income but I don't want to go somewhere where the schools are not good. Any thoughts? Essentially we are looking for an affordable home with nice schools in a quiet location. |

The answer is mixed. Generally in the lower grades Killingly schools perform better on the Connecticut Mastery Tests, however at the high school level, Middletown students generally perform better on the Connecticut Academic Performance test. That said though, neither school district performs above the state averages. Class sizes appear to be slightly lower in Killingly. You can compare schools by checking out the Connecticut Department of Education's Strategic School Profiles on their website. Hope this helps. Jay
