So a few months back I had to take the driver retraining class because i got 2 moving violations and was required by the DMV to take it. I paid the 60 dollars and took the class and since then I've been driving like a grandma because another moving violation could cause a 30 day suspension.

So today at 12:30am I'm driving home from home towards CCSU to go back to my friends dorm. I went home to pick up snacks for my friend and I. I live about 8 minutes away from CCSU. Now every time i drive i know i have to drive perfect or else i'm screwed. I was doing good for 7 months. Sadly tonight on Robbins Ave at Florence Street in Newington i got clocked going 52 in a 35 I really didn't notice i was going that fast.

It was 12:30 and no one was on the road. A cop was hiding in the side street (Florence street) and of course I didn't see him and he pulled me over. I pleaded not guilty but is there way to not get the violation on my record? I'm a full time student that commutes and work full time so I really can't afford to have a 30 day suspension. And please don't tell me to not speed and or "pay attention to the speed limit" it's too late the damage is done and I can't change the ticket. I just need to know what my options are for after pleading not guilty. Thanks for reading guys. Appreciate any help i can get.

Wow Im so sorry.......... I think maybe the best thing to do is plead guilty and pay a ticket,THAT WAY YOU MIGHT NOT GET SUSPENDED!!!!

If you plead NOT GUILTY and they prove you are,YOU MAY GET A VIOLATION!! (Something you dont want or need)

Good luck!!! (I know its easy to get going fast and not realise it (My friend sometimes gets going too fast and we slow down fast!!))

Slow down. That's a neighborhood of families with children and pets. This ought to be the last lesson you need before you kill someone.

At this time I would see a lawyer maybe worth it bro, usually they have a good relationship with the prosecutors, you may just get a slap on the wrist. Plead not guilty go to court, ask the prosecutor if you can donate to a charity in lieu of paying a fine, they do this often and it does not go on your record.

They may offer a restricted license that will allow you to drive to work, school, Doctor appointments and stuff like that rather than a full suspension

The OP must be the most unlucky person alive. The ONE time he speeds he gets caught.

Get an attorney if you don't want the suspension. That's your only hope.
