You can get angry, defensive and pissy if you want...but the fact is those buildings are old and run down and any trouble the comes in the neighborhood generally came from there. The guy who stole my car in CC in his statement said that he was visiting a friend in The Highlands before stealing my car and getting chased to his home in the projects of New Haven and caught.

It's not to say that all people there are bad, it just is what it is.

Why are people so afraid of the truth? I grew up in Waterbury in a really ratty neighborhood - big deal, I don't live there now or pretend that it wasn't ratty.

Ballantyne/Piper Glen area.

Why did I move? Man, where to start. I just didn't like Charlotte. No culture, too crowded, no hills, bad food, fake people, too hot, BAD traffic and I felt like I was living on an urban island with nothing around me for 2 hours in either direction. That's the short version.

Actually, your 'facts' and 'truth' are neither. Police statistics consistently show that crimes in the area are usually committed by persons who do not live in the Highlands-they are actually usually done by people not even from the area, who target it because of the easy access to the highways to escape. So, your 'fact' -isn't. I do recall the time that guy stole those cars-he stole several besides yours and should not have been out on probation-he was not a Highlands resident.

And those 'buildings' are actually single-family homes, and I sold mine for more than those squirrel-nest Carriage Crossings condos go for

You're pretty quick to defend Hartford in other threads-I'm pretty quick to defend the Highlands. It's all good.

moruph - I am not familar with these particular apartments but they appear to be located in downtown Meriden. What i do know about the area is that there are problem neighborhoods not far away and that downtown Meriden is does not have much to offer. I think Middletown would be better. Less problems and the downtown there has a lot going on. Jay
