Default moving to clinton, CT area

We would like to move to the Clinton area later this year.

I will be looking for a new job and would like to know what the commutes would be like from:

1)Clinton to New Haven commute (I95-South over Q bridge)?

2)Clinton to Middletown Commute (rte 81 to rte9)?

3)Clinton to New London/Groton commute (I95-North)

Goole map states that each commute is about 30minutes. How is commuter traffic on these routes and will I encounter delays?

Thanks,

John

I live in Clinton. My husband works in New Haven and it takes 35 minutes every AM. Traffic starts at exit 52 but will improve as the I95 highway project is completed. Not much traffic to speak of to Middletown or to New London in the AM. Time would be about 25 minutes and about the same to New London.

I hear that it will cause big delays??

Default clinton salt marshes and mosquitos

We are currently looking at houses in Clinton and some of them are on roads that border the salt marshes. I was wondering if they attract a lot of mosquitos to the area?

My uncle has a place in Darien that borders a salt marsh and he can't go out and enjoy his lawn in the summertime because the mosquito population is large and active.

Hopefully someone from the area can comment on this...

Thanks

John

The Q Bridge project is a major reconstruction of I-95 in New Haven, East Haven and Branford. The Branford and East Haven portions are complete and the first section of the New Haven portion are complete. The remainder of the project is very complex and will take years to complete. It involves building a new bridge and replacing the I-95/I-91/Route 34 interchange. The project is not schedled to be complete until approximately 2017!

As for big delays, they are maintaining the same number of lanes as exist today during all phases of construction. This should help assure traffic will not get worse, however traffic is pretty bad on I-95 now during rush hour. If you want more information on the project, there is a very informative website. Jay

Correct 2 & 3 are not bad at all. The Q is a nightmare almost all day long. I sometimes backdoor it by going up the Merritt/Wilbur Cross to N. Haven and come back down 80. It maybe longer but at least it moves. I only have to go to Danbury Area twice a month and Norwalk twice a month for work (YES). I work from home most of the time so I really don't deal with it. I do go to COSTCO in Milford now and then in the day during the week and that could be mind numbing even at noon time.
