Food is good all over the state. Esp pizza. Some of the best pizza i ever had came from ct but What do you and your families do on a Saturday /sunday are you in general in your city compared to leaving the city.
Most cities don't have mountains nearby. Charleston doesn't. Casinos are only an hour away. Six Flags is another hour. Those are super random things to want that most cities don't have without a drive.

Clearly you didn't step foot inside Milford Lanes because it's fine. It's not swanky like the new Bowlmor in Norwalk, but it's one of the nicer bowling alleys in the state. Recently renovated the outside too.

I think you're exaggerating on the needles. I've been to several CT beaches literally hundreds of times (and live next to one) and never saw such a thing.

Your position is a bit weak...

This has been my point. Yes, we do not have an amusement park within a city of 300 square miles. But we do have amusement parks almost as close. We have beaches in our coastal cities and mountains just as close. Some people just don't get it or reality. Jay

Feels like a pretty average small city to me. Nothing really unique about it.

Only if by "average" you mean "much more expensive than average".

Hartford is the largest employment center with more than 114,000 employees but not sure how many are downtown. I would say the top three definitely are, in no particular order, Hartford, New Haven and Stamford. Not sure which one is tops. Jay

Downtown Bridgeport need major improvement like jobs, more apartments, entertainment scene, museums, night life. It pretty dead Downtown the closer to train station, bus station there minimal foot traffic further away from train station you barely see anyone.

By casual observation I would say New Haven has the most foot traffic. Stamford probably has it beat by economic activity though, largely due to big retailers like Target and the Stamford Mall. Downtown Hartford feels dead to me compared to both, even during business hours.

Thankfully don't work in any of them to really know anymore, but was in downtown Bridgeport last week for jury duty and seemed pretty quiet. Not a lot of cars, and most of the people I saw walking were fellow jury duty.
