Default Relocating...

Hi I am trying to relocate to CT...I have been looking towards the eastern part...I need help and info on where it would be best...I have a family, so I want good schools and opportunities. I do not want it to be a crowded area, and I would like to have good job opportunities, esp for my husband who is in building carpentry; I want a nice little family area......Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you!

You could locate to the eastern part of the state but be near one of the major cities so your husband has employment. The suburbs east of Hartford are very nice as are the suburbs east of New Haven. In the Norwich area, the Indian casinos keep expanding so there is a lot of work for people. Around New London, there is work relating to the submarine base. I would suggest figuring out where your husband can get a job and then settle on a location. Hope this helps, Jay

There are several towns in Tolland,Windham and New London counties that may fit your needs. Coventry, Willington, Ashford, Somers, Colchester, Lebanon, & Putnam that are all quiet, very low key and great places to live that offer much.

As Jay said the Indian reservations in Ledyard and Montville would offer jobs in carpentry. Eastern Connecticut offers families much;good schools and the lowest cost of living in the state- yet a quiet lifestyle.

I too have been offered a job around the North Haven CT area but am very hesitant as my spouse does not have a job. He has his CDL's but we have no clue as to where to locate, if we do move. We have a 5 year old to think about as well. The cost of living seems very high. So I guess my question would be: which area should I look at for housing, cost of living, and school system? I'm a little overwhelmed.

Well both North Haven and Wallingford are nice towns with good schools. Living there would allow your husband to look for a job in the Hartford, New Haven or Waterbury areas. It is even reasonable to commute dow to eastern Fairfield County for work. Good luck, Jay
