Wow!
Thank you all so much for posting all of these pictures! I grew up in CT, in a little place called Lake Hayward which lies between Colchester and East Haddam. Most do not know where it is, unless it is your destination, it isn't someplace most would stumble across. I do love where I live now in N.E TN but I love going back home when I can because it is some of the most beautiful land in the world. I feel very appreciative to have grown up in a place that Norman Rockwell might have painted.
I will admit, I miss seeing stone walls everywhere I go, there is nothing like New England rock to build a beautiful wall.
Just for fun, over the next few days I will find some of my old pictures of CT from years gone by and post them here.

I took some photos while I was visiting family in CT in early December. I lived in CT for the first 20 years of my life. I now live in TN - and there are a lot of things I miss - like SNOW! It snowed once during our stay - so at 8am we trudged out (my fiance is a SW VA native, not much snow there either) and took pictures, and soaked up what we could before it started to melt.
These pictures were taken at Yantic Falls/Indian Leap in Norwich where I lived for a year. (Spent two years total in Norwich)
Our TN plated car covered in snow - so proud! Haha. We drive up - takes about 14 hours total. Next trip is in late May!
I also wanted to share this picture I took in 2000. It was credited to my father since I was underage, but I still love it It is pretty popular since it shows the size of a model J boat. I remember taking it because it looked funny, never thought much of it. It was taken at Mystic Seaport when they had the model boat races. One of my father's boats was run over by the ferry!
