Mystic?
I've heard really good things about Mystic? Is that also the local opinion? Does it have all the amenities? I've tried to do some research online, but haven't found a lot. I'm assuming there are all four seasons, but how bad are the winters? I LOVE snow, so just curious.
Thanks!

Try searching under Groton since Mystic is a hamlet of that town.

Mystic has four seasons. A very charming coastal town- a wee touristy in the warm months, but still a pleasant area to live. Winters are cold- but not oppressively so - snow while common is not abundant in most years- summers are warm, with periods of humidity, but not terribly hot. Springs are late to arrive but very pretty- the most pleasant time of the year is late summer into late autumn.
Lots of antique shops- great places to eat, with lots of interesting local history. The Sea Life Aquarium is renowned. Shopping is ample in town with small shops that offer unique items- more 'big box stuff' in Groton and New London. There is close proximity to local beaches along LI Sound and Block Island Sound in CT. The golden beaches on the Atlantic, with its surf are in Rhode Island.
A very pleasant place to live.

Oh I LOVE her! I'll have to watch out for a rerun of that show. How are schools and shopping around Mystic?

Mystic
I have to say, the Aquarium is simply the best I've ever been too - I love the feel, the design, the creative exhibits etc. Granted, I grew up in Southern CT and Mystic was where we took field trips/family trips to the aquarium - so I'm not unbiased! Many who grew up in CT will likely remember Mystic mostly for the aquarium.
I'm 20, came out here (chicago) for school but had to leave because I couldn't afford it...I've been to many aquariums from Chicago to Boston, and Mystic is still my favorite. I love the shops, the olde town feel, the personality - it's what I miss most about New England. I think I'll be returning as quickly as possible - how I miss it

The movie Mystic Pizzia was filmed in the town of Stonignton, which includes Mystic. The restaraunt came after the movie, however they did put up pictures of Julia Roberts and what not not from the movie (it's a tourist thing). I grew up in Mystic, and trust me there are better places to get pizzia than Mystic Pizzia!
