Anyone read about this? Kids were trampled, EMS had to respond for minor bumps and bruises. Luckily nobody was seriously injured. The adults from around the region who showed up should be embarrassed.

Half the people in the pictures I've seen look like absolute scrubs.... so if they don't care to brush their hair or wear something other than sweatpants in public, they definitely don't care about anyone else!.... looks like a trash fest!!!..

When I brought my kids to these Easter Egg Hunts many years ago the same thing happened. There were even parents who stole eggs from other children so they can put it in their own kids basket. It's kind of sad tbh especially when it involves children and candy! I stopped going to these public events and I made my own backyard egg hunt so the neighborhood kids can have fun without parents who act like they're 4.

That's just sad. The first problem is not having a participation cap. 1,000 people is simply far too many for this sort of activity. Only a few act need to act wrong and the mob mentality takes over.

It has nothing to do with the religion of the participants. It is just basic psychology and group dynamics.

Easter egg hunt mania, Black Friday shopping frenzy, over-crowded Fourth of July gatherings - we avoid all of that these days. Sometimes there's just no place better to be than home.

You guys should take a look at the Florida forum. There is a dum-dum talking about THIS is why people like her are leaving CT and moving to Florida. As if this is the norm for CT and Florida is full of upstanding citizens. LOL. She doesn't realize one of the reasons this made national news is because it's CT and incidents like this are far and few between.

I read about it, it made it to national news actually. We do a hunt each year at the homestead for the kids in the family and it's a lot more fun.

Although this year we took our son to Paradise Hills Vineyard where it was a lot more quaint. There were a few hundred people there but they seemed very organized. The Easter Bunny showed up on a horse and carriage and everyone was setup for a few hours of fun with picnic attire. After grabbing a glass of wine everyone lined up appropriately along the vines, where each row represented an age group. They did the countdown and the kids were off. No pushing, yelling, craziness, just kids and a few adults walking down the aisle with their kids taking pictures and showing them where the eggs were to pickup. We didn't stay long, had other plans but it was a good time and I would repeat.

Oh, I don't think it is even typical Nutmeggers. Click on the link. In it one woman tells how she drove 2.5 hours to get to Orange for the egg hunt.

Easter Egg hunt turns into chaos after parents storm PEZ center field in Connecticut | Daily Mail Online

Who in their right mind needs to drive 2.5 hours to go Easter egg hunting, in Orange of all places. People are nuts. I also don't see what religion has to do with anything.

My family is totally non religious . Yet we took our grandkids to two Easter egg hunts- one last weekend and one yesterday. The egg is a symbol of rebirth and spring. It was pagan long before it was religious.

If Pez does this next year, they should surround the field with portable chain link fencing, topped with razor wire. Put the kids in the field, lock the adults out. Kids have fun, the adults can drool around the fence like a scene from The Walking Dead.
