Hello all-
I recently moved into a home with no window screens. I got an estimate from a local window company and it was very high (about $100 a screen). Does anyone recommend a handyman who can come to my home to measure, make, and install window screens for a reasonable price?

My windows are a bit tricky: the window sills are slanted and it doesn't seem to have a groove for a screen to fit in. I would feel more comfortable having a professional do the measurements for me.

Thanks for any recommendations!

I am assuming that by screens you mean a screen over the entire window which would include a frame and screening material that is going to be fastened to the outside of the window. I don't think $100 per window is high for screens. Try another company or two to see what they charge but I am not sure you will find it for much less. Even a local handyman would charge a good amount and who knows how well they would fit. Jay

Yes, Jay, your assumption was right-an entire window screen including frame. Thanks for your reply-I had no idea that screens were so pricey, but you could very well be right. Will try to get a few more estimates to be sure. Thanks again.

Depending on the situation (Window condition / age), might want to consider replacing entire unit....a little more $$ now, but may offer energy savings in the long run
