Yesterday I had to drive south on 95 through Stamford and out to JFK. Literally there were accidents everywhere starting on 95 in Stamford, and a Semi had rolled over on the curve of Exit 21 just over the NY line for 287 West. Just getting by all that took an hour, then pretty clear until, crossing the Throgs Neck then jammed more and more accidents everywhere and bottle necks this is all at 3pm on a Tuesday! Then to top it off more bad accidents out by JFK and then on the way back a three car accident on the Hutch Northbound near Orchard Beach where two of the cars went off the road into the trees. I have been driving in this insane area for about 35 years and I cannot remember a worse 4.5 hour roundtrip to JFK! What is goimg on? I think it was because it was the day after a great holiday weekend. We had to pay somehow! Thoughts---

We should keep building those buildings in Stamford and everywhere and keep invited more people and vehicles into the area.

FYI, roads/congestion doesn't get better with more population

New construction in Stamford is causing trucks to roll over in the Bronx?

Now I've heard everything!

If you actually read, Cambium said "Stamford and everywhere" and if you continue to read, you'll see the traffic jams began in Stamford....

Stamford. Nahh, can't be. More vehicles = more accidents. Cant be.

Lets see. 100 cars on road vs 200. Hmmm. Wonder which would be more a hazard.

Next time you stop on a "highway" or parkway because of traffic, count how many cars are around then wonder what its like with half that amount..... then wonder what its like with double that amount. Let me know what your conclusion is. lol

To respond to the OP again, Just in the last 5 yrs I've noticed a big difference in the amount of congestion around. Not just on the major roads but within the cities. This is noticeable with every accident as well because we get backed up even easier and with more vehicles.

Even if just 1 or 2 extra cars around your car while driving makes a difference! Multiple that a few times within a 1 mile stretch. You get the point. Its common sense.

Traffic will only get worse as time goes on and there's not much the state can do. There's not a lot of room to widen the highway and even if they do choose that option, traffic will be 3x as worse as it is now.

Coincidentally I had the same thoughts yesterday afternoon on I-95 in FFC. No accidents, but an unusually large number of trucks and congestion. Also a lot of trucks on the local roads. I put it down to being the day after a holiday--catch-up I guess.

On the positive side, all this congestion signifies economic activity, right?
