East Hampton and Cromwell
I have lived in
Bristol
Clinton
Cromwell
East Haddam
East Hamptom
Enfield
Madison
Manchester
Terryville
Torrington
My fondest memories would have been in East Hampton and Cromwell. Two very different towns that have a lot to offer, in my opinion

East Hartford
Storrs (UCONN)
Willington
Tolland
Bristol
I loved living in East Hartford as a kid. Had the woods behind my house where my friends and I spent many hours building forts, riding bikes, swimming in P&F pond and exploring. We could walk to Charter Oak Mall which was a big thing back then, Silver Lane Bowling Alley, Friendly's, or Showcase Cinemas. We also could go swimming at Penney Pool, play football and baseball on school's practice fields and ride our bikes to many of the town's many parks. Life was great as a kid in the 70s. Freedom, independence, and self-discovery with plenty of community support.
I liked living in Tolland too because of its close proximity to great places to hike, bike, and relax.
Today, I find living in Bristol very convenient with many of the same elements that my hometown of East Hartford had when I was growing up but with a noticeable absence of appropriate opportunities for freedom and independence for my children due to high structural barriers of a more mobile, hectic, and less involved community-oriented modern society.

Growing up: Waterbury
Naugatuck
Prospect
Wolcott (Very short time) Coming back to CT as an adult:
Terryville (Bristol line on Fall Mountain Lake)
Middletown (Westlake)
Meriden (Northeast Side)
Manchester (On Bolton/Gbury Line.) My favorite is Waterbury - HA! Just seeing if you were awake.
I would have to say Manchester is my favorite so far. I live on a couple acres in the woods on the Case Mountain Ridge over looking the CT River Valley and it's very easy to get to everything in the blink of an eye with no real traffic at all. (Shopping, DT Hartford, CT River Valley, Ocean etc etc)
It's just sooo convenient and relatively affordable by CT standards.
Least favorite - Meriden with Waterbury coming in a close second.

Milford and Hamden....Milford's great for a commuter or single folks. Little more expensive. Hamden's more "residential". More small town feel and better community, with Quinnipiac there. And I'll take the Wilbur Cross/northern Merritt Pkwy over 95 anyday........

I was born and raised in Stamford, but New Haven is my favorite CT city or town by far. It's diverse, educated, cosmopolitan and down to earth all at the same time.

Milford
Stamford
New Haven
Marlborough
I have ranged from urban areas to semi-rural! My fav is Marlborough. My quality of life improved remarkably once I escaped the 95 corridor.

I grew up in Wallingford, lived for most of my life, also lived in Meriden. Clearly Wallingford was my favorite.
