I would be curious to see how much of a population loss Bridgeport would sustain by this? New Haven or possibly Stamford would become the largest city.

Anything west of Ellsworth street would consider be Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — Residents of Bridgeport’s Black Rock neighborhood are up in arms over tax increases from the city’s budget and some see a solution: Get out of Bridgeport and join Fairfield.

Black Rock includes two full census tracts with a population of 9,073 and 4,544 houses, as of the 2010 U.S. Census. The neighborhood also incoroporates part of a third tract that has a total population of 1,297 and 393 houses, as of 2010.
Rello is hoping to use the page to gauge interest and then create an official petition for the neighborhood to secede and join Fairfield. She also plans to use it to find attorneys, accountants or other experts to help advise on the process.
But town officials indicated adding a neighborhood to Fairfield would not be a simple - or perhaps likely - process.

Hopefully it stopped. I worked with a few people who, even if they were giving their address for a party or Christmas cards, they'd point out that the mail had to go through East Norwalk.

Tetreau says all the cliched and right things publicly, but behind the scenes is salivating over the additional prop tax revenue the move would bring.

I don't know what that means, what I meant was that I never anyone there try and say they were from Westport. On the contrary, I'd say they were more proud/provincial of being from EAST Norwalk.
