It's summer time and my hankerin' for a good hot dog is at an all time high. Does anyone know of any good hot dog stands in the Vernon area??
I know of one which is on Cemetery Road in Manchester. It's next to the On Ramp for Interstate 84 right off of Spencer Street. I don't think they have continuous hours. They just drive there, and open up whenever they feel like it. When I drive by around noon during the week I see them open for business.
It's a small business started and operated by a friend of mine's son who's developmentally disabled. Nick, the proprietor, is a great guy. I am eager to try it myself when he's operating.

I got a couple of hot dog s there recently. They were decent but I am not sure that is what the OP is looking for. This is just a hot dog cart and not really worth traveling for. I would think the OP is looking for a hot dog stand. There are several I can think of including Doogies on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington. I think they are the best around. There is also the venerable Augie and Rays on Main Street in East Hartford near Pratt & Whitney. Another great place is Harry's in Colchester and then there is Bart's in Windsor. I hope this helps. Doogies also owns The Clam Digger on Hartford Turnpike in Manchester (Just over the Vernon line). Same exact Doogie's hot dogs.
Guida's in Middlefield. Great dogs right near the 691/91 interchange.
Their dogs are so good. Buy one, get one on Monday's, too!
