Let's see: you're using Google maps as fuel to argue with four posters who have personal experience commuting in both places. You've never commuted in LA. I can say with confidence you don't commute daily in Fairfield County, since multiple times you've stated your commute is 10 minutes a day and you live in the Hartford area. You also made the asinine statement that people in core lower FFC towns don't complain about traffic because they can take alternate routes (wtf?).

Anyway, I'm over this discussion because it could go on and on.
I am wrong? Google maps does not show virtually all LA freeways as heavily congested during rush hours? Those same freeways are not on the lists of the country's most congested highways? Enough with the BS already. And I may live 10 minutes from my office but that does not mean I do not know the traffic conditions in Fairfield County or have experienced it firsthand and often. So before you dismiss what I say I suggest you post some proof that my statements are wrong because they are not. Jay

Jay, I agree with you on the congestion--as I've said, LA freeways have more lanes, more cars, so yes, more congestion. The speed at which this congestion moves, however, (after purposely putting myself in rush hour, at different times and days) is much different than CT. I never went less than 25 mph in LA (unless I was at a red light, of course!) on any of the freeways, etc. Compared to CT and NYC...where if I get up to 25 mph in rush hour, I get super excited because I'm finally moving--0-3mph is common in CT/NYC rush hour traffic.

Oh--people do more tailgating here, as well.

Again, just personal opinion and some first hand experience. I'm going to be out again in a few weeks and will do the same thing and will be happy to report back.

We can stress our experiences until we're blue in the face. Clearly, Jay has his mind made up.

What time was this? I left the freedom tower in lower Manhattan at 7pm and was home in Wilton at 805 taking 9a to hutch to 95.

That's weird, I drove to Stamford from Orange on 95 last evening at 5-6 and it was solid traffic northbound from Black Rock to Exit 8. I guess 1.5-2 hours makes a bit of a difference...

Where were the 30 mile jams in LA?

When I was there, I also experienced traffic moving at about 25 mph on a regular basis. Traffic actually continuously rolls along in LA. It does not have that stop, go at 30, stop, go at 40, stop, go at 30, stop, go at 35 that we have in CT. If you don't believe this then that's your problem, nobody else.

"Enough with the BS already".... your posts are the only one with BS in them... you've got 4 people telling you their experience and you are just ignoring it posting the same thing over and over.... ridiculous.

I also watch google maps in los angeles for fun. Don't hate on google maps. It's incredibly accurate! It's bad out there for sure. But, If you're trying to get from greenwich to new haven then traffic is WORSE in ct than Los angeles. There's no route that is that bad in los angeles for that length of mileage. Especially on a friday afternoon. Los angeles has many options, unlike trying to go northeast across this state in fairfield/new haven counties. The bpt to stamford section is horrific and probably one of the worst in the country.

Where did I say there were 30 mile traffic jams. I said two things, Google showed virtually all the highways around LA with congestion and LA highways are always listed as having the worst congestion. These are facts, not BS. Jay
