Default stratford?

Hi to all.
Born and raised in Branford and reluctant to leave. My situation right now is that I've been commuting to Stamford for almost a year and a half and it's killing me. All the wear and tear on my car and gas consumption, as well as the commute time, has me ready to move closer to work. I've seen property listed in the area of Birdseye Rd in Stratford. Is anyone familiar with that area that could tell me a bit about it? It'd be me, a female living alone, moving with my dog. Is this a good area?

While not horrible or dangerous, I believe that there are better areas in Stratford. Others here may know better. Jay

thanks, Jay. I haven't actually been on Birdseye, but from what I have driven through in that area I kind of got that impression. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't "judging a book by its cover" so to speak.

It may not be the right place for this, but I will answer it anyway. You might check craigslist.com and the local papers for listings under Vacation Rentals. Even check the New York papers since they often have Connecticut listings. Jay

Birdseye is definatly NOT the place you want to be. Im not sure about your budget but look for places north of barnum ave, thats pretty much the dividing line btwn decent and not so nice
