We are soon moving to Connecticut and are looking for an apartment /home to rent in the Avon/Farmington area. We are a family of 4 with a 3 year old and a 9 month old. Please let me know of some family friendly apartments/places in these areas.

Take a look at these apts in Farmington.

Farmington Connecticut Apartments - Lakeview Apartments in CT

Some units have patios that open to large grassy areas. My daughter's family lived there for several years before buying a house. They really liked it.

What is our budget and what do you expect to get for it? That could help determine where people suggest. You might try looking on craigslist for a condo rental or contact a realtor to assist you in finding a place.

What about Farmington Gardens across the street or Forest Park down the street? There are a couple of new apartment complexes in Simsbury but they are pricey. Still they look nice. Honestly I think most apartment complexes in the Farmington valley are family friendly since the area is very family oriented. With such a short time to look, I think you need to expand your search to include towns like Canton as well. Good luck, Jay

Zillow has started listing homes for rent now as well. Also some of the Realtors in the area do cover rentals, I know someone who works for Coldwell Banker and says they are getting more involved with rentals lately. When I lived in Maine I used a Realtor as a third party in finding a house to rent and it worked pretty well.

Thank you for the reply and the other apartment options. Our budget is around 1500. We are looking at home/condo rental options too in zillow and craigslist. We prefer the farmington area so that in addition to preschool, activities for kids would also be nearby.
