Agreed, it is fun to do when traveling overseas but I see it spiraling out of hand very quickly in this area.

I agree on both of you guys, but it's pleasing to see some kind of development in this town. But what kills me is the fact that Danbury has a population of 85,000! but places like Middletown and new London look totally bigger in size, and way more developed. It frustates me because Danbury is only an HR away from the BRONX. hositpal will merge with putman and westchester county hospitals in 2019.

That's a big plus but Danbury has so much potential. Being born and raised here the key that will make Danbury is the train station project they have in approval.

They plan on combining the the bus and train stations, to make it the Danbury transit center. Once they do that and electricly update the trains, Danbury to Norwalk can be 20 to 25 minutes!

For Downtown all I suggest is that all of main st will have to be 3 to 4 lanes each and west st and white st. Add bike lanes and 3 15 floor buildings and Danbury will booming.

To answer your question this is what they said on the newspaper about the project.

"The gas stationís main driveway will be aligned with International Drive to turn the intersection into a four-way traffic signal, per the plans."

Wonít happen in our lifetimes.

Also there are speed restrictions because of the street grade crossings vs. the main line which is all elevated.

Although from 2012
This site shows various proposals for Danbury, Bethel and Brookfield.
Some of these projects are already complete and some they didn't do. It's a shame that some of these projects are shelved and forgotten. It would of completely changed downtown and it would of been pretty cool if these projects would of came to pass.

Danburys highway is going to have to wait 1 more year unfortunately. Construction will start 2023 and end at 2030. At least there's still development.
