They are a discount carrier. But it would add a second European route to the airport. It's uncertain where they would land in Europe but it would not be Ireland or anywhere that ois direct competition to Aer Lingus.

I think it would be great if Bradley can get another international airline to add flights to Europe or any destination outside the country. Jay

Flew them from JFK to Stockholm for less than $400 in September and was very impressed with it considering the price paid. Doing the same in January and paid less than $300 this time. It would also be an incredible addition for FFC folks if they added service from Westchester.

Westchester won't happen. Runway length won't support a fully loaded 737, let alone an A330...

It will be a great addition when/if it happens. I heard something a while back about a dirt cheap one way trip to Europe on Norwegian. It would be from Bradley but I can't remember what cities it would be going to. You'd have to find a way back but at least the one way would be cheap.

And it's about time we had an option rather than going to NYC or Boston.

That would be a wonderful addition. I've already used the BDL-DUB route with Aer Lingus and couldn't have been more excited to not deal with Boston or NYC traffic for an international flight. That would be awesome if Norwegian flew BDL to London-Gatwick or Paris, both of which are airports they currently fly in/out of.

I read somewhere that Norwegian, planned new routes using the new 737. These routes would be to smaller US cities. Cities such as Hartford. I also read that Norwegian would be using, Ireland as its base of operations. With Aer Lingus expanding its route system from Ireland. I wonder how this will all play. I know the US Airlines are against Norwegian using Ireland, for a variety of reasons. However I believe Norwegian, has been given approval for such operations. Hopefully Hartford will get another connection to Europe. I'd like to see Norwegian also consider Providence. Anything to give travelers options besides Logan and JFK.

Are you sure a 737 has the range to fly that far? Or I should say, flying back since its into strong headwinds.

I doubt it

It's the next generation 737. The 737 MAX. I know there are plans to fly it between Cork and Boston.

Ireland isn't much further than San Diego from the East Coast and nowadays transcontinental flights are on 737's all the time. 737's also do West Coast to Hawaii. The AA flight from BDL-LAX is a 737... I hate smaller planes on these long distances, but it's reality now.

A few weeks ago I was on a 767-300 from Miami to JFK and realized it was the first time I'd been on a wide body on a domestic flight in years...
