Default Train or drive to Stamford from Danbury??

I have begun researching moving to Danbury/Bethel/Brewster area with my husband and two small children under 2. My husband is going to be working for BOA in Stamford and I was curious if anyone new about the train to Stamford from Danbury? I read on another post that Rt. 7 and 95 (obviously) was a nightmare. Is there a waiting list for spots at the train station in Danbury. My brother said there were waiting lists at other station in Fairfield county... We are thinking of looking at townhouses, but I want to make sure the commute to Stamford is relatively easy for him. We now live in Hingham, Ma and he takes the ferry to Boston. Thanks in advance for your help!

Your husband would take the Danbury spur of Metro North south to South Norwalk, where he would may or may not have make a connection to take a Grand Central-bound train. The Danbury spur trains are a bit limited. If driving is not an issue, it is possible to avoid much of Route 7 and I-95 altogether by taking back roads (heading down High Ridge or Long Ridge Roads in Stamford).

It really depends on exact location in each city. I would estimate about 45-60 minutes.
