Is there anybody out there with info on Killingly, CT? In particular the Green Pond Hollow townhouses currently under construction. Is it a small rural town? I'm from CT but my knowledge base of eastern CT is very limited. Any information would be appreciated.

Here are two links that might be of interest: Town of Killingly -- Welcome to the Town of Killingly's Website http://products.cerc.com/pdf/tp/killingly.pdf As for Green Hollow Pond, there will be 42 2-bedroom, 1 1/2-bath units. Common charges are estimated to be $165. The units will have propane heat, central air, and a one-car garage. Kitchens will have granite countertops. Laundry room will be on the upper level. Good luck...a friend of mine just moved from Southington to Danielson in January. |

Killingly population 17,700 is a pleasant town located in extreme eastern CT, it is next to the Rhode Island border, and is about 35 minutes to Providence RI, & 55 minutes to Hartford.
Northeastern CT remains mostly rural, and has a slow pace of life, Though Killingly has seen a 7% growth in population since 2000. |

Very small town feel in a rural area. The downtown is old - not a whole lot there. You'll have to drive a ways to get to a mall or any major shopping, though there is a new shopping center being built in Danielson. You can go to Providence, Waterford, Worcester, or Manchester for things to do. Worcester is about 20-30 minutes, the other towns are 45 minutes.
Housing is still reasonable in comparison to the rest of the state. There's a mix of income levels. The people are friendly and, for the most part, easy to get a long with. Woodstock and Pomfret are neighboring towns that very pretty with small shops and galleries. We lived there about six years and enjoyed the area very much. |
