Make sure you also check out the Travelers Tower, once the largest skyscraper on the East coast outside of NYC. There are tours to the top (you have to call ahead) and there are actually Falcons nesting on top.

The Phoenix boat building is a cool building to see as well, the first 2 sided building in the world. Check out the riverfront while you are in that area.

I would suggest using priceline for a good deal. The Hilton and Marriot are nice hotels but the best one downtown IMO is the Goodwin.


Enjoy Hartford, for a city the size of Hartford, not many cities can match it in Architecture and history.

The Holiday Inn Express on Asylum Ave is right across from Bushnell park and in Downtown. It's new and clean too. Rates are about $100 a night...not bad for being in a downtown location.
