I think the Libertarians might have a shot in some place like the Naugatuck Valley or Litchfield County, but that would only be for state reps and if the repub candidate didn't run. Unfortunately the Libertarians in New Hampshire are a bit out there, and if I remember correctly the CT ones aren't close behind.

No matter how you cut it, CT is just faced with a bad choice.

I just don't see anyone other than a Democrat being voted in as governor. This state took a hard turn to the left in the past decade. I could be wrong (and I hope I am).

Even a more Moderate Republican like Hwang would be good

He is a very nice fellow and I believe is more to the center. I see him in my Starbuck's from time to time. If he is running and gets the nomination I would vote for him.

Well I would of agreed with this statement 8 years ago, but I've talked to a lot of registered dems and some of them pretty much had it with the party. My parents have been life long dems, and have recently changed to unaffiliated. Their completely disgusted with what the party has become. I have a feeling many will jump ship when it comes time to vote.

I wouldn't mind Themis Klarides running. She has been opposing Malloys policies since the start and she has done well facing scrutiny by the media. She is probably the most right wing candidate in the state that has a good chance of winning but I think a moderate like Hwang would be a good choice as well. I hope Boughton gets further than the last time he ran.

The article below just completely turned me off to Themis Klarides. She obviously is politicizing a much needed transportation connection that has been planned for a long time now, is funded separately from the core of the state budget (Transportation Fund) and needs to be up and running smoothly in just two weeks to serve returning college students. Despite what she wants, the state still needs to operate and there are some things that we can't stop. Should we just shut down all CT Transit? What about a Metro North or Shoreline East? Those services rely on the same funding. This kind of shows how out of touch she is. Jay
