Do you live near a UPS store? I bet you could have your packages sent there.

Thank you for the advice, I was about to go to the post office and ask about this but you all mention that it is the sender that decides if the packages get left at the door or not.

I don't know if this is relevant but I liked at my lease and it says " this community does accept packages on behalf of residents" but then since they say that this is a third party company and they
are not responsible for our packages anymore wouldn't that be contrary to the conditions of the lease?

That would depend on how many apartments are in the complex. Let's say there are 100 apartments in the complex. That would be $600 a month. Since the contract is negotiated with the management company, the management company probably gets at least half of that fee, if not more. So that could be $300 a month to the management company to deal with people packages, that they were previously dealing with for free, and they don't even have to have any contact with the tenants. Not a bad deal for them. $300 a month for something they were previously doing for free, and less work. Management companies are always looking for new revenue streams.

That wouldn't surprise me, but I still think the margins are too low to bother with all that.
A better answer is that the apt management probably doesn't want to do this work any more or they are getting tired of renters calling and asking "wheres my package"?
