My husband is interested in a job in Glastonbury, but we can't afford the housing prices. Are there nice, more rural towns within 20 minutes of Glastonbury that are towards Storrs?

There are many more afofrdable towns nearby. Manchester and Vernon are nice towns with a wide range of housing options to consider. These are larger towns with a wide range of housing options. Rural towns to consider include Bolton, Hebron, Coventry, Andover, Tolland and Mansfield. If you give us more information including your price range, needs and likes/dislikes, we could help you more. Attached is the link from www.cerc.com for Tolland County in north central Connecticut. You mentioned that you'd like more rural towns between Glastonbury and Storrs (Mansfield). These would be: Hebron, Andover, Columbia, and Coventry. You could throw in Bolton as well.

http://www.cerc.com/tolland.html

The available single-family inventory is as follows:
ANDOVER - 20 (median = $260,900)
BOLTON - 30 (median = $444,900
COLUMBIA - 29 (median = $299,900)
COVENTRY - 91 (median = $339,000)
HEBRON - 84 (median = $335,900)

Compared to GLASTONBURY - 169 (median = $539,900)

If you have a more specifics on your desired property, I could break this down into more detail.
