Just flurries in Wallingford, some snow on the ground. Not much.

Took me an hour and a half to get into work. Normally takes half hour. 18 wheeler decided it would be fun to go on a joy ride through the barriers on 691. Are these people stupid? It's snow. This isn't Georgia or Alabama. We get this stuff every single year.

The way people in Connecticut have been acting with minor snow events is no different than how they react in the Carolinas or Georgia... its crazy

lol. This event was insane and I saw it from a forecasters eye. Send the hate mail now! lol

BTW -- Some roads and walkways icing up now. HEADS UP.

Rain to start with a dropping temp and snow falling = slippery!

Is it heavy snow now? A lot of Westchester districts that delayed or in some cases not even that went from rain to heavy sticking snow quickly during the last 2 hours. If not they probably jumped the gun and assumed the worst. Trumbull is next to Bridgeport which is still rain and didnt even delay (only Stamford on the immediate shore delayed which ironically might have made it harder for them given the timing of the changeover) and I think they closed before waiting and "jumped the gun" as well.

They went with the delay initially, and then went to the closing at around 6 am when it was still raining. The snow changeover didn't happen until the morning bus runs would have been done, so the delay would have put them in a worse position. And the snow will be over before the afternoon bus runs. If this was predicted to 6-8 inches and it busts like this, then I would give them some slack. But 2-4 inches should rarely be enough to close school, especially with these fairly warm temps.
