Today at Cove Island Park in Stamford.

Plenty of people walking around in downtown, the small parks in downtown are also full of people enjoying the warm temperatures. I also went to Scalzi Park and its also filled with people as if it was the 4th of July.

Connecticut, get a hint! Nutmeggers are done with winter!! Don't play dirty with us!!!

Enjoy tomorrows brief warmth.

Looking ahead there is no sustained warmth in sight. Back to the cold pattern starting Sunday with record cold temps.

[Record cold Likely Sunday] Latest data suggests that record cold high temperatures are likely on Sunday. Many areas may struggle to get much higher than the middle 30s!

Enjoying the mild morning.

the same front that past us yesterday bringing this warmth is the same front that will pass us again bringing us cold.

NWS thinks 3-6pm the front will have moved past us. The speed of it will determine how high we go today.

.SYNOPSIS...
A cold front will drop southward through the region late this
morning and afternoon as strong high pressure over eastern Canada
builds into New England. A deepening low over the Midwest on Sunday
will be slow to lift north through Tuesday, preceded first by a warm
front Sunday night into Monday, and then a cold frontal passage late
Monday. High pressure briefly follows before another frontal system
impacts the area Wednesday night into Thursday.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Morning temperatures will be tricky, with quite a gradient
developing already. The front appears to be, as of 1130Z,
roughly west to east across central Connecticut, and will
continue to push southward across the area today. Main forecast
challenge is the exact timing of the front, which could have
impact on max temperatures today.

Right now, expecting the front to move across Eastern Long Island
and Southeast CT between 16z-19z and then the rest of the region
between 19z-22z. Of course if the front is either slightly faster or
slower, it will have an impact on max temperatures today. Expect a
quick warm up in the morning with temperatures sharply dropping once
the front passes in the afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the
60s across the interior, coastal CT and Long Island, with 70s in the
NYC metro and urban NE NJ. There remains a low chance that a few
locations in the NYC Metro area reach 80 by midday.

Temperatures are likely to drop 10-15 degrees in the span of an hour
or two and then will drop even further after sunset. Temperatures
should rapidly fall into the 50s and then 40s in the evening as the
front pushes well south of the region.

Anyone who has outdoor plans should be prepared for much colder air
to arrive at some point in the afternoon, especially east of NYC. It
is entirely possible front arrives a few hours earlier than
forecast, dropping temperatures quicker than expected.
And yes, with this cold rush of air you have to think sleet and ice

Front has already progressed farther S/E than expected, with
wind shifts to the NE/E as far S/E as NE NJ and portions of NYC.
As a result have had to lower temperatures for today

1pm Temps with surface winds. The front is between the north winds and south winds. CT pretty much seeing the max right now at 2pm... should start dropping next few hours.

We would of made it into the 70s today if the front wasn't moving south so fast.

Binghamton got north winds while Harrisburg got south winds. Front is somewhere between. Can't use the clouds or dewpoints today to find it.

Williamsport about to nose dive from mid 70s.

Must not be here in New Britain/Berlin yet. Temperature sounds like this time yesterday: 72 degrees. Not too many clouds either.
