Something interesting.. Danbury, CT 2018:

Max temps:
70s: 3 days
60s: 6 days
50s: 21 days

There hasn't been a day with just 60s since February 20th! I didn't count March 1st because it was literally for 30 minutes in between hours.

Also... Having a max of 51°-59° with full sun only has happened once this month on April 1st.

Also... more days in the 50s in February than 1st 20 days of April.

That's unbelievable. Forget about "Marchuary." Now I guess it's time for "Apriluary."

Here is a look at the Top 50 locations with the largest season snowfall departures..

Surprised? Islip, Long Island NY is +41.1" above normal which is 7th largest in entire U.S. 3rd snowiest season on record.

Bridgeport, CT #31 being 18.3" above normal. Almost 4 feet of snow for the season.
Hartford at #43 being 15.6" above normal.

Norfolk Nebraska and NYC makes the list as well.

I see (unless something unusual happens in late April or May, it wouldn't be unprecdented there) Erie just missed 200" for the year. I remember awhile back Syracuse ended up in the 190s for snowfall and they said no city over 100K people ever had 200" or more of snow in a year (Buffalo's record is also somewhere in the 190s, I believe in 1977).

If we truly got 15" or so per year, I wouldn't mind winter as much.

How long before the averages show what we've gotten in the past 10 years? Has the average crept up at all since 2009 or so?

I haven't been around much here as I used to be because my work has been sending me to Buffalo like every other week. It's truly a special place for snowfall.

Cam- Do yourself a favor and stay a weekend in Hamburg when the lake effect kicks in.

I was there in Dec and it literally snowed 24/7 the week I was there. I got to experience this.

New averages come out every 10 yrs. Current one is 1981-2010. So in 2 yrs the new one will be 1991-2020.

I just looked up Bridgeport snowfall 1991-2018. The Average is 55.6". WHAT?! LMAO! Still got 2 more yrs but we may see a huge bump.

And when they get 3 feet of snow it will be seen as below normal.

Yeah, there are some impressive spots around the Lakes, I would love to speak to some locals there. It would take me a couple yrs to get used to all that snow. It's like a 2nd full time job measuring and reporting.

Nice pic of the game. Love snowy games.. I heard MLB cancelled like 25 games this spring due to cold and snow and rain.

Welcome back.

Enjoy the day guys. Beautiful AGAIN! 3 days!

My brother lives in the south towns of Buffalo..20 years almost. He is a snow lover and when he first moved he loved it. Lately though he said he's had it with the snow...too much , too early and too late. If it wore him out it can wear anyone out. Also interesting side note on it..he said the storms are not fun to follow because...well..there are no storms really , it just pops up. nothing to track.
