It sounded like the New Britain Bees set their fireworks off during the game itself, knowing this line was coming. A city ordinance says they have to set them off no later than 10:30 PM. I left at 8:40 PM, with the game having only gone 5 full innings at that point. Not one drop on the walk back to where I'm staying (got here nearly an hour later).

Gentle showers here this morning - unless I slept through thunder. Seems to be over now.

I think we may be entering a wet period as a parked High Pressure over the Atlantic will bring a southeast flow up the coast and stall fronts coming in. Like what we had in Spring.

This will not only keep temps down but also bring a chance of a coastal storm forming. Lets keep an eye on this pattern

Grass got green with the rain last night. I'll take my 1/2" and run with it. Newtown with 0.68". Colebrook with 0.07"

Had a 90 minute rain delay in the 5th inning at New Britain Stadium. Safe to say the dew point didn't budge.

I just returned from a week in N. California, and when I woke up this morning I was reminded of how unpleasant dewpoints in the 60s are. There was one day in NorCal (Friday 7/13) when the dewpoint hit 62, and the local weatherman made it a point to explain how the "humidity" was due to a rare monsoonal flow in the middle of summer.
