I thought was over for 2018... I should have known. Or just forgot. Or just wanted to.

New Years Eve 2018 Weather. Rain!

New Years Day 2019 Weather

Snowing down to Mexicos as the Jet stream decides to dip over there and not over here. Ugh!!

Is it time to wave this yet or still too soon?

I hope we get snow on the ground from mid January to mid April to compensate

CMC has a storm for the 1/3-4 period, but it has zero consistency. NAVGEM moved to a good spot though. Could this be "it"?

Oh yeah. 1.06" from the past storm. Feels like spring not winter

12z model runs add even more confusion. Seems as if solutions are diverging instead of converging.

GFS - well to the south, complete miss

CMC - coastal shot

ICON - slam dunk for interior

Some climate information. Here are the CoCoRaHS totals for Fairfield County since 9/1/18 to today. Look at those numbers ! One over 30", that's 7.5" per month. No wonder the ground feels like spring. Looks like I will miss out on 30" barely.

When it was happening we were wondering if this was going to be a theme all winter.

Now 1.5 months later in January we are wondering if that Mid November snowstorm will be the biggest of the season.

All storm tracks for this month. Dec 16th came close to giving us a snowstorm. Mid levels temps were too warm with that one. Oh well.

In the Florida forum "anyone sick of this cold weather" thread was posted a link to this article about the polar vortex. Any thoughts as to the impact for us in NE?
