At least we're not getting the flooding rains like Texas up to Michigan are getting! That sun was nice this morning...but then it went away.

lol. Are they hyping it out there? We'll see. What has been consistent is the prolonged period of precip. As if we didn't have enough already! I think it's a rain to snow thing but too soon!

Btw.. hate to say it again.. What do we ALWAYS go through?

"Why so much rain, when will it end?"..."Where's the rain, we need it". We say those things so many times throughout the year!

That sun felt like I was born again! Ugh. 3 hours of it isn't enough!

60 straight hours of no sun.
3 hours of sun.
Now clouds and rain again for 36hrs

Watch July we have endless days of sun and no precip. lol

Rain...Rain...Rain

2-6am Loop

Bridgeport had 5.75" of precip this month at midnight. They are 1 inch away from wettest February on record. And only with 5.3" of snow.

Yeah, I was staring at that plume of moisture seeing if its pushing south but it's mostly just coming right at us from the SW.

Should end by early-mid afternoon.

See new Euro snow map. Over 8" for northern CT outside the valley with this new update. Stay tuned. If it's a big enough threat for us, of course I'll post here. Just trying to save myself some time.

BTW .. Rain is over!! TIME FOR SUN NOW! (tomorrow and next 2 days)

Does this have anything to do with the weird unpredictable nature of next weekend's snow and the "eastern blocking"?

https://www.irishtimes.com/news/irel...1982-1.3404985

It's being called "Beast from the East" because it is moving east to west instead of the usual opposite way (since normally the jet stream moves storms west to east). This movement is supposed to give the UK and Ireland its biggest snows in decades (and possibly their biggest ever March snow) as well as record low temperatures, particularly for March (another article I can't find anymore in a British newspaper talks about London possibly having lows in what for us would translate to single numbers Fahrenheit.....that's about as cold as it has ever gotten there, let alone in March....they have an unusual climate in that it is usually warmer than us in the winter with annual snowfall totals similar to the Carolinas, but summers that are about 10+ degrees cooler on average than us).

Wait....here's another article on it, it said London already had this week it's coldest late Feb. temperature since 1986, a low of -5C (wait, 23 degrees is the coldest they've had in late Feb. in 30 years? I didn't think they were THAT much warmer than us this time of year.....)

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...s-told-uk-snow

Article also notes that "sudden stratospheric warming" you (Cambium) like to talk about.
