Good weather day well timed! Sunny with a dewpoint in the 60s I’ll take it.

Saved the BigE much needed ticketing revenues.
Saved the most important day of the Somers/Ellington Four Town 180-year Anniversary Fair East of the River!

As absolutely depressing the September weather has been, the Saturdays have been well timed.

Sat September 1 was the one fairly nice day right before the heat/humidity built in and messed up the first week September when we had sun but begged for a break in the heat/humidity.
Although we were without sunshine Sept 7 thru the 14th,
Saturday September 8th was when the air was fall-like and dry eventhough it remained cloudy. People were happy the dewpoint dropped from September 6th.

September 15th after 11AM turned into a nice day

And so ironically.... the recreational spend this month on outdoor venues did relatively well in spite of the weather we’ve been complaining so much about because weekends were relatively better days and among the few good ones.

Slowly transitioning to Fall (Slowly). Kinda boring pattern this week except we have some Florence and frontal moisture coming Tuesday.

Searching for our next breathable fall like air I found this weekend to be nice! Dews dropping and no rain. We get a quick break on Thursday but we have to wait another 6 days for the real thing.

Check out next Tuesday morning dews. North New England leaves should start ramping up the color changes due to the cooler/drier weather coming.

BTW - Early Snows in Canada. Yes, early even for them. And 4 days in a row is pretty uncommon.

When do the first Frost's usually occur for Fairfield County? Never really paid attention to it other than this year.

I'm loving how it's 78 with a dew point of 66 at 6:20 pm in mid-September. After all, it IS still summer until Saturday.

Upper 80s today. Disgusting and above normal for this time of yr. Sick of breathing in AC air.

I miss the Septembers of the past.

Look at Bridgeport 1st half of Sept 1963.

Dipped into low 50s at night and struggled to stay above mid 70s during the day mostly

On my phone, will check in morning. I think usually end of October or early November? While frost can happen at 38° under right conditions, they use 36 for criteria. So I'll check the Avg 1st 36°F

Well, BDL was upper 80s, but everyone else was low-mid 80s. I was at a BBQ and I too found it still too warm though, especially in the sun, was expecting mid-upper 70s and was unpleasantly surprised.

Interstingly, September is one of the few months where you can find that there actually is as much if not more warmth in the past than the recent present. Unlike much of the year, more of the "warm" records are in the distant past. For example, it was 101 on Sept. 7, 1881 in NYC and for Central Park the "record high low" for the month of 79 occurs on two separate dates/years in the 1800s (one of which is the 101 day mentioned above).
