I think we need to know your budget. So you know this is one of the most expensive parts of the country so an apartment in a town with good schools will be very expensive. I know Stamford has a large number of Indians but the schools there and in Norwalk have issues. Jay

stamford and norwalk both have a large indian population for the area, but the schools are not very good in either. I believe a good portion of Stamford's Indian population is transient as well.

As for towns with a decent sized indian population and good schools- greenwich, wilton, and westport come to mind, but you'll be hardpressed to find good rentals under $2000 in those towns.

Trumbull is another option, but the commute to norwalk/stamford will be long- and I believe the Indian community there is more gujurati/punjabi than south indian.

Why move here only to live where only your own nationality lives? Sorry, no melting pot here.
