I was born and raised in Stamford. I got married and moved to Trumbull when I was in my early 30's. I had a great time being a teenager and a 20 something in Stamford. I am in my 50's but still young at heart and if I could afford it I would move back to Stamford.

A great thing about Stamford is you want to hop on a train and go into NYC it's not bad.

I am guessing that you saw what you get for your budget and it was not what you thought it would be. Remember that Fairfield schools are considered to be very good so people are willing to pay a premium to live there. Norwalk and Stamford are cities so their schools do not perform as well. Families who want very good schools usually seek out homes in other towns. I think you will be happy in Norwalk or Stamford. Jay

Stamford's also changed... a lot. Curly's is still around, though.

For social and night life it is even better now. There so much more energy in the downtown area.
