Water temperature on the entire west coast is pretty cold, yet many beaches are well renowned. Same thing with Maine. It only gets warm in the southern states and Hawaii. If I’m looking to swim, I’m going to the Virgin Islands, personally.

People appreciate different things. Eastern LI beaches have pristine sand, natural dunes, and there’s some beautiful natural features, like the cliffs at Montauk.

I did a few Hobie Cat regattas in San Diego. The southernmost 20 or 30 miles of California don't require a wet suit in the summer. Anywhere north of that? Gidget is wearing a wet suit. The water is like Maine.

Well it looks like the plan to connect Long Island with either Westchester or Connecticut is dead. Governor Cuomo has pulled the plug on the idea. No reason was given but I am sure it had to do with cost and opposition. Too bad. Jay

Probably because the narcissist realized they wouldn’t be naming it after him.

Isn't the new Tappan Zee bridge named "Cuomo bridge" or something like that ?

No one's ever going to call it the Cuomo bridge.

It's officially named the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.

Officially the old bridge was the Malcolm Wilson Tappan Zee Bridge.

Exactly. And Mr. Gompers is right - even news stations still say Tappan Zee.
