I am betting on this for the same reasons as well as someone else noting that Bezos' partially owns the Washington Post. A surprise that may be likelier than you think is Newark for the reasons I gave in my previous post in this thread.

"Amazon has narrowed its list of potential sites for its second headquarters to 20 metro areas, heightening competition among the remaining candidates to negotiate a deal to Amazon’s liking."

"Schoettler said he enjoys the built environment, a preference reflected in his decision to build an urban campus in the formerly industrial neighborhood."

"Shoettler declined to discuss the HQ2 project with me, but several of the proposed sites in and around downtown Boston exemplify the qualities Schoettler and Bezos saw in Seattle."

"They want to be in these certain kinds of places that have culture, art, density, housing and small businesses," former Seattle City Planner Marshall Foster said about Amazon. "They really invest in a kind of quality of place."

"Amazon’s list of 20 finalists may play into this approach. Clustering nearby cities like Newark and New York, three sites around Washington D.C.; and Dallas and Austin."

I was responding to Pittsburgh and saying it's a world class city compared to Hartford. For starters.....they do have an NHL team. That wins Stanley Cups no less.

Ma has gotten a ton of good economic news in recent years. Same happened to Nashville metro where I lived the last few decades.

When you get lots of good news, you get complacent.

Under Malloy, we have gotten very little good news. That makes us view potential good news, such as this hq, with much more intensity.

Even if they were larger, they weren't going to make it.

I do think newer cities, up and coming, have giant edges in that regard, as new rail systems, light rail style, are easiest to build where land is plentiful.
