Unfunded tax cuts are like a fun night of binge drinking. The happiness you feel is short lived and a mirage and the hangover it leaves makes you think it probably wasn't worth it after all.

I moved to a low tax state/responsible state that runs a surplus. If these corrupt Connecticut politicians still find a way to screw me I'm going to be so pissed(as will the people in the other 38 states who aren't suing). I find it ironic that the only people who are going to pay more are wealthy people who lost all their loopholes yet liberals are suing over it. I thought they loved taxing the rich?

While I don’t agree with the tax cuts the President and the Republicans rammed through without concern or vetting of the consequences, I also don’t agree with this lawsuit. It is futile and a waste of time and money.

No one likes to pay more in taxes than necessary but many don’t want to give up the things those taxes pay for either (military, regulatory agencies, transportation, etc.). But Congress passed it and now it will be up to them to figure out how to pay for it. A lawsuit is not going to stop it whether they like it or not. Jay

Supreme Court: No, Maryland, Double Taxing Is Not Constitutional
IWF - Supreme Court: No, Maryland, Double Taxing Is Not Constitutional

"In a 5 to 4 ruling, Justices agreed with a lower court’s opinion that the state’s practice of not granting a credit to residents for income tax paid outside of the state is the same as double taxation and violates the Constitution."

The Supreme Court just ruled against double taxation in 2015. I don't think this case is so pie in the sky.

Being taxed twice on the same income. The new bill guarantees it for higher earners.

This will most likely be one of the cases they cite.

"In a 2015 decision written by Justice Samuel Alito, the court ruled that a Maryland provision denying its taxpayers credit for taxes paid to other states was unconstitutional. Expect the states' challenges to the GOP tax bill to cite that ruling (Comptroller vs. Wynne) prominently."
Killing the state and local tax deduction may be unconstitutional. Here's why

Waste of time. That's how I describe Malloy's 2 terms. (Or worse!)

I do agree this will be tossed out quickly.

I thought the overwhelming majority of people in these states want to pay more taxes?
