Near River Road/Pine Rock Park. Anyone know anything about this area??? I am not interested in schools as my son is grown but I am interested in safety as I live alone. Is this a safe neighborhood?

Thanks for the help.

I believe this area is safe. Shelton is an old mill town that has experienced a revival and there are few areas to worry about. I think this one is good, but others may have more to add. Jay

There really aren't any "bad" areas of Shelton. The Pine Rock Park area is a little more densely populated than some other sections, but I don't believe it is more prone to crime. In fact, it might give you more of a sense of security to have neighbors close by.

I would recommend phoning the Shelton Police Department and asking whether they consider it a safe area for a single woman. I have always contacted the local police department when considering a town to move to, and have found them very helpful.

Good luck!

Hi Christine,

The area near Indian Trail/Pine Rock is usually little bungalow type homes. My brother actually lived there when first married. Very busy area for traffic. Not sure of your price range, but there SHelton offers quite a lot of variety in homes and pricing as well as condo options that may appeal more to you. I would suggest finding a good Shelton based agency and have them show you some homes to get a feel for different parts of town.
