I’m going to throw in southington. One because of center street and two because if you walk 10 minutes down the trail you are in downtown plantsville which is small but a really fun time.

It’s still incredibly high end with some of the best restaurants and shopping in Fairfield County.

Aside from restaurant variety, it is one of the most beautiful with the harbor, duck ponds, green, waterfalls, antique homes, etc.

So it does have some of the best “bones” of any downtown.
I like the harbor, and wish they would develop a restaurant row there (Back of Park Lane, but an elevated row?), with many options, seating overlooking it.

The city is planning on adding restaurant space by the harbor

From what I understand there’s tons of interest from restaurants to come downtown but not a lot of available space

I like New Milford and Litchfield downtowns. I also really love New Preston, but there isn't much there - it's just super scenic.

Torrington has potential but needs some more investment.

Woodbury would be exceptional if it were a little more compact - there are sidewalks throughout town, and lots of independent businesses, but it's got to be more than a mile from New Morning down to the restaurant area of town.

Yes, New Preston is tiny but quite nice. Same with Collinsville and New Hartford.

I think what i was getting at (my mistake , didn't specify ) are downtowns that have a vibrant nightlife / entertainment . My b. A lot of these downtowns people have named are nice indeed but looking specifically for ones with a lot "happenin."

Then your selection is much smaller. SoNo, Fairfield, Westport, Black Rock, Milford, West Hartford.

Other downtowns mentioned are sleepier and more about the charm. Or family oriented.
