Glad we're in Tucson for this one, but we're going to owe our neighbor big time for clearing our driveway and sidewalk!

What an unbelievable storm. We had nothing on the ground on the shoreline at 5:20 PM and I was calling the storm a bust, we've got 10-12" now. The heaviest snow imaginable, many trees are bent to the ground due to the weight of it. Reports of power outages from many friends/family in the area.

Interesting - I'm in the Farmington Valley and the snow was mostly dry. Not completely powdery, but it was definitely not a heavy snow. I ran my snowblower from around 7 to 7:45 and there was maybe 4-5 inches on my driveway. It's snowed more since that time, but not a significant amount more.

My brother lost power for a bit in West Haven but it came back pretty quick. I’m not buying those totals either, 5” in Wallingford.

Those outages will be creeping up...went out a bit ago to shovel the walk and the wind is picking up...with the branches weighed down and many already weakened from last week’s storm, I'm preparing for the worst. Probably about 8” now I’m Middletown...not a bad haul.

Were in the dark orange. I was out putting corn and apples out for the herd when I heard a tree go down nearby. Right after that we lost power. we walked a little ways because it sounded close but turned around pretty quickly. Driving wet snow. ❄ Never saw the fallen tree.

Anyway -- Back Edge is near!

Also, Thundersnow in Hartford now.

When that fetch went through me it was wild, the biggest snowflakes I've ever seen!

That was a 7pm report I think even the City got a bit more than that in the end (though I doubt anywhere near a foot, I'm guessing 4-5"). I guess that record for the date of 6.0" from way back in 1870 stayed safe after all.....everyone else who didn't start weather records until later shattered theirs....BDR's was only 1.2" back in 1969.
