Default Commuting Stratford to Stamford (Metro North)

Is this doable?

My husband regularly takes the train to South Norwalk and it seems fine, and I don't think Stamford should be that much further.

Absolutely - continuing to Stamford will only add about 10 minutes to his commute (one way).

The express train is 30 minutes and the local is 42.

The monthly pass is $90.

You should contact your employer in Stamford to find out if they offer a shuttle service from the train station to the office.

Default CT cyclists friendly?

thanks for the info. i have found out that my office is within walking distance of the Stamford Metro Station. I am wondering though if from where i stay (am exploring Bridgeport, Stratford, Trumbull, Fairfield) are these places cyclists friendly?

if i stay say within a 5km distance from the train station i plan to cycle to the stations. Are the roads safe enough and do the Metro stations have locking stations for bicycles?

Thanks.

I have seen racks for bikes at most stations and there are people that do use them. The problem would be inclement weather. Not sure you would want to be on a bike in 20 degree tempuratures. Jay
