What area of Conn has some of the lowest apartment rentals that aren't a dive?

If you are looking for low cost on the shoreline, you will have to venture far to the east. Your best bet would probably be New London.

This is kind of a hard queston to answer not knowing what you want or where you will work. In Fairfield County, Bridgeport is probably the least expensive place to live along the coast. The Black Rock section is beautiful. Stratford is also nice with Lordship being along the water. In New Haven County, New Haven is probaly least expensive. West Haven and East Haven are not bad either. All of Middlesex County is fairly expensive along the coast but further up, New London is probably the least expensive. Hope this helps. Jay
